HISTORIC ARRIVAL OF RANO AIR IN WARRI: A NEW DAWN FOR DELTA AVIATION AND BUSINESS
In a landmark event poised to reshape the aviation and economic landscape of Delta State, Rano Air officially commenced operations with its maiden flight from Abuja to Warri, landing safely at the Osubi Airport to a rousing reception from aviation stakeholders and government representatives.
The historic moment was graced by a high-powered delegation representing the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Barr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, underscoring the federal government’s renewed commitment to aviation growth and regional development.
Among the dignitaries on ground to welcome the inaugural flight were Dr. Maurice Ojo-Ede, CEO of Kinging Logistics and Automobile Ltd and Founder of the OMO Foundation; Olorogun Voke Oshasha, Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Minister of Aviation; and Alhaji Lawan Sabi Bankinzuwo, Chief Operational Manager of Rano Air. The team was warmly received by the Airport Manager, Chief Winston Ifeacho Egwuatu, alongside his management team who facilitated a seamless reception for the historic landing.
In his address, Dr. Ojo-Ede lauded the commencement of Rano Air’s operations in Warri as a catalyst for economic revitalization. “This is not just a flight—it’s a statement of economic intent. Rano Air’s presence in Warri will expand access, ease of movement, and open up fresh commercial opportunities for Deltans and the entire South-South region,” he stated.
He went further to appreciate the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for maintaining a business-friendly atmosphere and promoting infrastructural development that fosters investor confidence.
Dr. Ojo-Ede also reserved special praise for the Honourable Minister, Barr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his visionary leadership at the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace. “It is a privilege to represent the Minister at this epoch-making event. His dedication to transforming the aviation sector is evident, and today’s success is a testament to his impactful leadership,” he affirmed.
The arrival of Rano Air in Warri signifies more than an operational expansion—it heralds a new era of increased connectivity, regional integration, and economic empowerment. As the engines of the Rano Air jet cooled on the Warri tarmac, the warm reception, excitement in the air, and optimistic mood among stakeholders echoed a single truth: Delta is rising—and the skies are opening wider.
